I am a non-training Orthopaedic registrar, and am coming up to completing three years in this position. I am passionate about ensuring there is equitable access and opportunity for female medical students and junior doctors to pursue a career in Orthopaedic Surgery

I am a medical student at the University of Sydney with a keen interest in Orthopaedic surgery (particularly relating to sports injuries). I am Dutch, and grew up in Hong Kong before moving to Australia.

I am a Hand Surgeon in private practice at Singapore.
Prior to starting private practice in 2020, I was a senior consultant in the Department of Hand and Reconstructive Microsurgery at the National University Hospital, Singapore since 2004.

My clinical interests include microsurgical reconstruction, brachial plexus and peripheral nerve injuries, and correction of upper limb bone and joint deformities.

I am currently a member of the executive committee of the Asian Pacific Federation of Societies for Surgery of the Hand (APFSSH) and an editor for the Journal of Hand Surgery-Asian Pacific Volume.

Here, I'm immersed in nurturing the next generation of medical professionals, developing cutting-edge curriculum, and advancing research in basic science and bone biology. My core competencies lie in my profound understanding of musculoskeletal infections, Basic sciences, Foot and Ankle, Biomechanics, spine and my proficiency in arthroplasty and advanced Trauma.

As an educator and researcher, my role extends beyond the classroom to include program coordination and emergency services management. I actively contribute to the betterment of our hospital's operations through part-time administration. Our team's commitment is to deliver excellence in medical education and patient care, with a keen focus on integrating diverse experiences into a cohesive, patient-centered approach. My motivation is rooted in the belief that education and research are pivotal in the evolution of healthcare services.

Diversity in Orthopaedics is something close to my heart on a personal level. Being of Indian heritage, seeing the diversity in the population of Melbourne where I live - and slowly seeing this reflected in the orthopaedic workforce.
